Bio

      I 'm Francesca Starr, but I go by Franki. I graduated with top honors from Longwood University, where I served as president of Kappa Pi, the academic art fraternity, for two years, gaining invaluable leadership experience. For 12 years, I worked as a swim instructor, enjoying the opportunity to teach a vital life skill.

       I spent 5 years at Minuteman Press DC as a Graphic Designer and office manager. My graphic duties encompassed creating and recreating logos, brochures, posters, preparing files for print and meeting tight print timelines. I designed anything and everything from one hour business card proofs to extensive magazine layouts. My duties as an office manager included running daily meetings, delegating work and managing the incoming workflow to accomplish deadlines and expectations of clients. 

      Following that, I worked at Summit Media for four years as their graphic designer creating decks for the account executives and digital ads / banners for the radio stations. I also produced the magazines being used across all Summit Media locations for their national investor meetings. (see Summit Media case study)

      Currently I have been at the news station, 12 On Your Side, for three years as their graphic designer and creative service producer in marketing. My role involves filming with a Cannon 100/200 and Ronin DJI, editing, and creating graphics for on-air commercial spots, news opens, print materials, headshots, and more.

      Whether collaborating with a team or working independently, I excel at solving problems creatively and effectively. I believe my attention to detail, design expertise, and passion for this this field would greatly benefit any company.
